| ”Sustainable development of great river basins: international and interregional cooperation” |
 - assistance to sustainable development in greater river basins, provision for sustainable social and economic development of Russia, preservation of natural environment for contemporary and future generations, ecological, hydrometeorological and energy safety.
Main tasks of the Forum:demonstration of implementation of international, state and regional programs in the field of ecology, hydrometeorology, power engineering; development of legislative, regulatory and economic mechanisms pro-viding for transition to sustainable development; creation of efficient forms of management and coordination of activities of regions in great river basins, international cooperation and implementation of international projects..
In 2008 the MEGA FORUM has gathered more than 800 enterprises and organizations from 22 countries and 53 regions of the Russian Federation. Events of the Forum were attended by representatives of 14 international organizations. More than 500 reports were presented at Congress of the Forum. Within the framework of the MEGA FORUM 14290 business talks were carried out, 1037 contracts were concluded, 2862 letters of intent were signed.
Events of the Forum were covered by more than 170 representatives of mass media.

are three largest international forums having unified there efforts to deal with issues of sus-tainable development of the civilization in great river basins and formed a unique by its scope and format in Russian Federation - MEGA FORUM.
